the [MIA] tattoo

 

 

For those interested, I have a couple of tattoo's. One of them is the [MIA] tattoo. I had this done some time ago and have received varying levels of input over this.

 

There are those that appreciate it for what it is, a tattoo and very nicely done.

There are those that hate it for what it is, a tattoo and therefore permanent on my body.

And, there are those that critisise the subject matter.

 

Even more recently I was attacked over this and I want to clear up my reasons for this tattoo here and now.

 

I did not get the [MIA] tatt because of [MIA] the clan or CS the game.

 

Quite simply, I had this tattoo done because I was at point in my life when I felt that I wanted it. I was at a crossroads. I spent a lot of time with the members of [MIA] and I spoke to them all, about various subjects or even drivel.

I travelled and met as many of the members as I could, not because they were members of [MIA], but because they have all become my friends.

I thought long and hard about this tattoo, knowing even then that [MIA] the clan would not last forever and eventually I would be left with a tattoo that wouldn't mean a lot to other people.

 

Fact is, I care not at all about what other people think of it, no matter what happens to [MIA] the clan, the people or the IRC channel, that period of my life will always be with me and my tattoo is a personal celebration of that.
